By the end of the course you'll handle these tasks on your own, at the bench and on the machine.

Create a new TIA Portal project and configure the S7-1200 hardware, devices, tags and data types.

Write logic with contacts, timers, counters and comparisons, and organise your code into OBs, FCs and DBs.

Map digital and analog I/O and check their status online.

Download your program to PLCSIM and test it before it goes anywhere near a machine.

Open an existing program, understand what the machine is doing and why, and change it safely.

Track down faults with the diagnostic tools: watch tables, forcing and the diagnostic buffer.

It's built for people starting from scratch with PLCs who want a skill they can use on the plant floor right away.
✓ Maintenance electricians who want to understand the PLC and clear stoppages without calling the machine builder
✓ Technicians and recent graduates looking for a practical skill that helps them get hired or move up
✓ Anyone new to PLCs who wants to learn on real hardware instead of slides
Prerequisites: basic electrical knowledge and everyday PC skills.
3 days, 24 hours, all at the bench. Every topic is tried straight away on real PLCs, HMIs and I/O.
Day 1
PLC architecture and the scan cycle, S7-1200 hardware, creating a project, configuring devices, tags and data types.
Day 2
Ladder and FBD: contacts, timers, counters and comparisons. OBs, FCs and DBs. Downloading and testing with PLCSIM.
Day 3
Watch and force tables, the diagnostic buffer and fault finding on a bench with simulated faults. Final exercise: a small conveyor belt.
01 · Learn
Each concept is explained in a few minutes, with examples from real production lines.
02 · Build
You program it right away in TIA Portal and download it to the PLC on your bench.
03 · Troubleshoot
You hunt down simulated faults with the online tools, just as you would in a plant.
04 · Commission
You get the final sequence running on a small conveyor belt.

You work directly on PLCs, HMIs and I/O. Every topic gets tested on the bench as soon as it's explained.
One training bench for every 2 people.
The final exercise is a small conveyor with sensors and actuators that you program, test and commission yourself.
What's on the bench
✓ Siemens S7-1200 and S7-1500 CPUs
✓ HMI panel and I/O modules
